This book is inscribed and signed by Sir Frank Baines (1877-1933) the architect responsible for Thames House and Imperial Chemicals House for ICI who had a worldwide reputation for the conservation of old buildings (hence the relevance of this book) The large number of first class photographic plates are reproduced on coated stock which is prone to damp. As a consequence a few plates have been eased apart with some loss of surface. Otherwise this book could be described as very good.
